EOY Technology Checkout Spring 2016

Page history last edited by Jeff Cockrum 7 years, 10 months ago

This is the email that was sent out on Tuesday, May 24, 2016.

Please see the IMS Team is you have any questions.  Thanks.

Good afternoon Gophers,

Thank you in advance for reading this entire email.  A little time now may save you a lot of time later.  Some of these items apply to teachers only, but some apply to everyone on campus.  I have a attached a checklist for those who would like it. Click HERE for the printable checklist.
NOTE- This information is also posted on GPHTechnology (link in my signature below).

*Technology has sent out information about “Device Choice for the Summer.”  Please carefully read this information and follow the instructions in their email (sent yesterday, also posted HERE).

NOTE- Speakers will become part of the room next year so they will need to be locked up in a cabinet.  Please do not take them home.  Traveling Teachers- please place your speakers back in the box (or grocery bag) and label them with your name.

*There will be an appointment (with a reminder) sent later this week for when you should turn in your equipment.  The short version- Equipment will be turned in during the first 30 minutes of each Exam Period on T 5/31, W 6/1, and TH 6/2.  If you need to turn equipment at a different time, please contact Patricia Hernandez (you can CC me on an email).  All equipment MUST be turned in NO LATER THAN Thursday, June 2, at 2:45 pm.

*Remember, you can change your password any time between now and the end of the year and be good throughout the summer.  EVERYONE needs to do this!  Please try to do this on campus and restart your computer, using your new password.http://gphtechnology.pbworks.com/w/page/78202649/Resetting%20Your%20District%20Password%20Through%20SelfServe%20on%20the%20GPISD%20Website

*ALL CLASSROOM PHONES AND SPEAKERS NEED TO BE LOCKED UP IN THE CLASSROOM OVER THE SUMMER.  Per Technology, the campus must replace these items if they are not secured over the summer.  Mr. Arendse does not want to spend your department’s budget money on these items next year.  Please take care of this.

*Ms. Hernandez will be accepting most of the equipment, but will not be signing anyone’s checkout forms.  I must be in the library (at my desk) in order for you to check out with me.  There are multiple lists that we are checking.  Sorry for any inconvenience.  You should be checked out with me by Friday, June 3, at 2:45 pm.

*All netbooks, audio cords, etc. must be returned ASAP.  Once I have signed your checkout form, you will not be able to borrow anything, including chargers and adapters.  Again, sorry for any inconvenience.

*If you are leaving GPISD, please make sure to back-up any files that you want to keep before turning in your devices.

*Take pictures of all setups (Cords, Cables, Plugs, and Locations for your Projector, Elmo, etc.) to help you at the beginning of the next school year.

*You should try to connect your devices to the GPISD network once per month during the summer.  You can do this on any campus (even in the parking lot).  Restart your device, connect to the network, and you’re good to go.  Keep your devices charged and use them over the summer for email, PD, etc.

*Please save all documents in the cloud (or at least back them up).  Files temporarily on the desktop are fine, but not long term.  “Documents” on the Mac and “My Documents” on a Dell are NOT good places to save files.

*Save/back-up email if you would like (emails drop after 12 months).
