Instructions and Guidelines for Completing the STaR Chart 2014-2015

 

 

In order to comply with federal guidelines and continue receiving eRate funding for technology, we must complete the annual Teacher STaR (School Technology and Readiness) Chart. This survey will take about 15 minutes of your time. If you are an Administrator, Counselor, or a Para then you are EXEMPT from completing this task for our campus.  This is for Professional Teaching Staff (including Master Teachers). :)  

 

It must be completed by Friday, November 7th at 2:45 pm!

 

1.    PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE READ ALL of the instructions FIRST before doing anything!!

 

2.    Locate your Username in the table HERE and copy it.

 

• Returning GPHS teachers w/an email address shown in the table:  Copy and Paste your Username, type your Password from last year, and then click Login to begin. If you have forgotten your password, you must retrieve it in Step 3:

 

 

• ALL TEACHERS NEW TO GPHS THIS YEAR-  Copy and Paste your Username and use "password" as your Password. Yes, it's the actual word "password." :)  You'll be prompted immediately, upon logging in, to enter your GPISD email address, a new password, and complete a Teacher Profile.

 

3.     Click on this link to get to the login page for the STaR Chart.  http://starchart.epsilen.com/Login.aspx 

 

4.      Log in and click Begin. For each question, rate yourself as Beginning, Developing, Advanced, or Target.  The "more" link in some categories provides an explanation. Click here to reference the SBEC Technology Apps Standards for Teachers chart.

 

          Note- You can navigate out of the STaR Chart survey at any point. The next time you log in, click Continue and the survey picks up where you left off. This will help if you get interrupted or log out.

 

5.      As soon as you place a check in one of the boxes, you’ll see the next question. When you answer the final question, you will see, “Your STaR Chart is complete. Click here to update your chart.”  There is no need to update your chart unless you wish to change a response.
